UConn’s Post-Master’s to DNP program serves nurses currently holding a master’s degree* and seeking to earn their DNP degree.
UConn’s Post-Master’s to DNP program, the first program of its kind in Connecticut, is designed to serve nurses who are interested in a doctoral program focused on practice and leadership.
UConn’s Post-Master’s to DNP Program is for nurses already prepared at the master’s level in the following areas of specialty:
- Clinical nurse leaders
- Clinical nurse specialists
- Nurse anesthetists
- Nurse Informaticists
- Nurse midwives
- Nurse practitioners
- Nurse executives
- Nurse educators
- Nurse administrators
The program prepares practitioners at the professional doctoral level with courses focused on adding the highest degree of professional expertise in eight essential areas specified by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). Post Master’s to DNP students have the option to either select a concentration or earn their DNP without a specialty.
